Job Description Role Summary
General Motors India is one of the many global design centers of GM. It is actively involved in Design & Development of vehicles that General Motors designs for global and Indian Market. Associate Sculptor position based in GM India Design Studio will be part of Sculpting Team which works on modeling Exterior and Interior surfaces. Associate Sculptor will be responsible for Digital Modeling, Surfacing, Understand design language, design themes and implementation of chosen design themes.
Responsibilities
Planning, analyzing and create Digital Model.
Responsible for creating surfaces for exterior and interior.
Researching, benchmarking and making contextual inquiries of the competitor vehicles for all aspects of Interior, Exterior and Aerodynamic Design.
Adapting the given design language, theme or direction for another range of vehicle maintaining the same design Intent to develop new models.
Delivering Surfaces for production and analysis as per requirement.
Coordinating & participating collaboratively with design and CAE teams of other design studios while working on a vehicle development program.
Organizing, attending and documenting periodic conference calls while working with Design teams of other GM Studios.
Candidate Profile Skills & Experience
1-4 years of working experience; as a Surface modeler/ Product Designer/ Used Surfacing and Reverse engineering tools. Relevant CAD surfacing skills is preferred
Should have basic idea of patch planning and uses surfacing technique to accomplish Digital surfacing.
Working Knowledge of Alias, Imageware, ICEMSurf, Unigraphics or any other surfacing tool.
Quick Learner and adaptable to new tools.
Working knowledge of MS Office applications like Excel & Power Point is a must.
Good ability to communicate his ideas visually, verbally and in writing
Ability to adopt new ideas, influences and quick to react to changing trends & requirements
Education Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering with 1-2 years of relevant experience.
Location Position is based at GM India Design Studio - Bangalore
