Brief Job Profile :Component Designer
• Will require hands-on experience with design tools such as
CADDS / UG.
• Will need to gain and understanding of Customer’s Design
processes sufficient to fulfill the task
• Will need to demonstrate the ability to understand the
relevant working principles and attributes of Nozzle Guide
Vanes (NGVs), seal segments and rotor blades and organize
the change to definition (modification) and acceptance at
customer level by completing design scheme solutions.
• Will need to interface with Project Chief Engineers,
expertise such as Materials, aero-thermal (cooling) and
manufacturing engineers. • Will need to demonstrate a low
risk and safe solution to the customer and engage corporate
tools to facilitate this such as risk management and lessons
learnt.
• Give consideration to the cost effectiveness of all solutions
offered and protect the customers Intellectual Property Rights
(IPR).
• Designer required by Turbine Systems to take design
responsibility for component redesign and modification
packages of work on gas turbine hot end gas path compone
The applicant should be capable of understanding basic
engineering principles of the component design, the change
requirements set out by the customer and be able to presen
the final solution to the customer with suitable buy-offs from
experts in the UK and from the manufacturing supply chain.
• A level of task management is necessary and the ability to
lead an integrated project team is a definite advantage.
Experience: 1 to 6 years
Qualification: Grad./Post grad.
Brief Job Profile : Stress Analyst
• Working within teams to deliver solutions, which satisfy our
customer requirements.
• Developing and using 2D and 3D Finite Element models of
components to determine stress levels.
• Assessing the integrity of components. This will include
evaluating limit and ultimate case analysis, low cycle fatigue,
vibration, creep and damage tolerance.
• Developing strategies to evaluate the integrity and function
of engine components.
• Supporting delivery and service management of engine
parts.
• Assessing non-conformance of engine components.
• Working to and enhancing established stress methodology.
• Assisting in the development and implementation of new
methods and practices.
• Using hand calculations to evaluate the strength of
components.
• Producing plans to assist leaders and resource managers.
This is a newly formed business unit, responsible for definin
manufacturing and delivery of Transmissions Structures and
Drives sub-systems. These sub-systems include a diverse
range of components from gear shafts to large complex cas
structures. The Engineering team you will be joining compris
of an integrated multi-skilled design team of designers,
modellers and analysis engineers.
