The purpose of this position is to manage and contribute to the design solution according to Global Development Process (GDP) with specific focus on the Development Gate/ Decision to the End Gate; and to deliver the final design solution with right Quality, Cost, Time and Features of the project.
The Responsibilities:
· To Manage & contribute design solutions according to Global Development Process with specific focus on QDCF.
· To effectively utilize Quality tools DFMEA, PDAP, PAP, DFA within the projects in order to ensure the Delivery Quality of the project.
· Interact with Global team to receive technical inputs in order to meet project deliveries.
· Good Knowledge on Product Development Process
· Engineering documentation of drawings and specifications.
· Support to Purchase Department in component development for global requirement.
· To work with cross functional teams and with a global network of people within Product
Required Competencies:
BE (Mech) with work experience of 7 - 8 years with atleast 4-5 years in Chassis & its component design.
Good Knowledge on Product Development Process
Knowledge of Design Failure Modes and Effect Analysis, Design Review and other Quality Tools
3D modeling tools like ProE/ CATIAV5
Project Management skills
Good communication skills (especially to coordinate with other SITES)
Good team player and a contributing member of CFTs
Position: Engineer/Senior Engineer Chassis & Vehicle Dynamics- POST NO.2
This position is in our Chassis & Vehicle Dynamics Engineering department. The purpose of this position is to design and verify technical solutions according to given prerequisites (e.g. function, Style, volume, geometry, costs, quality target and regulations). This is valid for both new design and maintenance of existing solutions.
The Responsibilities:
· Ensuring the delivery quality of jobs assigned
· Under the guidance of Project Managers / Group Leaders provide design/development support to main sites by executing projects/jobs according to Global Development Process (GDP) and using Global Development Instructions (GDI).
· To deliver the final design solution within the quality, cost, time and features.
· Comply with the determined work processes in QMS.
· Interact with global counterpart to receive inputs, technical specifications etc in order to execute the job and meet project deliverables.
· To create and document the design solutions in the form of Drawings, CAD Models, Packaging Layout, Technical regulations etc. in PDM/Kola.
· To participate in a cross-functional network regarding the technical area by communicating with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Project Management etc, and to, if needed, dialogue with suppliers regarding various technical issues.
· To contribute in product cost improvement and patent ids on continuous basis.
· Follow established activity plans and processes when supporting a project or engineering job. Develop technical solutions and add an engineering perspective to the documentation.
Required Competencies:
BE/BTech, Mechanical/Automobile, with 2-6 years experience.
Strong in design concepts of engineering.
Strong in engineering fundamentals and its applications.
Proficiency in Pro-E & Kola.
Good communication skills in English.
Good team player and contributor in Cross Functional Teams.
Position: Electrical Engineer - POST NO. 3
Responsible for wiring activities for a project/subsystem with the objective to meet requirements of the Electrical system within cost, time and quality parameters of Volvo India.
The Responsibilities:
Designing the electrical circuits for the wiring harness in truck using tools like Saber.
Responsible for implementing Wiring harnesses based on the needs of the Global project
Responsible for developing new solutions for the issues raised by Volvo India as well as global requests.
Assist in defining efficient way of working /implementing electrical solutions and participate in global forums.
Follow the predetermined work processes in order to comply with the standards. Performs DFMEA
Perform Design checks & participate in cost improvement activities
Discuss with cross commodity/ groups to get the required details to design the harness to suit all the stakeholder needs.
Document user requirements and validate with the project manager/user,estimate for the activity, plan for the activity and develop harness designs in order to develop efficient solutions for the electrical design in a timely and efficient manner.
Document and release the design solutions in the PDM systems in the form of bundle drawings.
Review functional performance and take corrective actions to iron-out quality issues in order to successfully implement the solution.
Required Competencies:
BE/BTech/ME/Mtech in Electrical/Electronics and communication/Instrumentation engineering with 2-4 years experience.
Co-ordinate with other wiring design engineers and consultants in execution of the project.
Proficiency in designing the harness.
Should have executed the design projects preferably in automotive domain & posses strong Electrical engineering knowledge.
Good communication skills in English.
Knowledge in Saber is an advantage.
