Opportunity with Cummins - Product Engineering

Dear Candidate,

We have positions for Product Engineering, based out of Pune and Indore (Dewas plant , Pithampur Plant), with One of our group companies (Cummins Turbo Technologies). 

The Job Details are given below -

Desired qualification:BE in Mechanical Engineering 

Experience: 
- 2-7 years experience in Product design & Development.
- Experience in design, development and validation of IC engine components or sub-systems.
- Demonstrated core technical skills to develop products & guide design, analysis and validation testing.
- Experience in engine development/applications is preferred but not essential.
- Hands on experience on CAD / CAE software would be an advantage.

Responsibilities :

- To understand, plan, and mentor the use of design and analysis and tests using standard methodology plan.
- To support new product introduction and rapid problem solving processes.
- To provide input to drive design iterations based on customer needs and cross-functional requirements.
- To work in functional and cross-functional teams to improve cost, quality and performance of product.
- To liaise with durability & reliability groups to understand the relationship between predicted and actual failure rates in the field and assess product risk.

Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Six sigma processes and tools -- TDFSS, Design For Six Sigma (DFSS), Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of system requirements and design FMEA, APQP/VPI.
- Awareness of Hazard Analyses to ensure product risks are understood and appropriately addressed in the system designs.
- Understanding of engine/vehicle applications would be an advantage.
- Excellent Oral and Written communication
- Core skill proficiency and leadership skills to plan, execute and lead a small team for new product development, PQC projects and to provide input to drive design iterations based on customer needs & cross-functional inputs.
- Excellent Presentation skills
- Attention to detail and methodical approach to problem solving
- Flexibility/adaptability to learn new technologies, analysis techniques
- Positive attitude and working within a global team environment.
