Job Title : Design Engineer- Connector (Rail)

Location : Baroda

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES (Details of the Job Responsibilities)

Responsibilities:
Responsible for engineering development and design activities for power and signal harsh environment I/O connectors.
Evaluates customer requirements to determine design criteria necessary to develop product concepts and designs.
Provides engineering data necessary for preparation of production drawings. Establishes component dimensions and tolerances, appropriate materials and finishes, drawing notes, and necessary substantiating calculations.
Provides support to production in analyzing problems and implementing corrective actions.
Answers technical questions and conducts feasibility studies. Interfaces with customers and visits customer facilities, as needed.
Design and develop new products for use in variety of standard and special applications.
Interfaces with ICS design and manufacturing locations world-wide.
Background/Experience:
Experience, education, skills, and background
 
Bachelors degree in Mechanical/production Engineering with knowledge of mechanical design and drafting 
5-10 years with a solid track record in the area of harsh environment circular and/ or rectangular railway connector design. Knowledge of relevant design standards and qualifications required to supply product to India and implant rail infrastructure manufacturers. Experience of designing power and signal (copper and FO) contact and connectors for rail application. Capable of working on all aspects of connector design and configuration.
Knowledge of general manufacturing processes
Knowledge of materials: plastics, metals, elastomers, and metal finishes
Superior interpersonal, analytical skills and communication( both written and oral) skills to support remote working with engineering teams in Europe and US
Proactive approach to planning, organization capabilities, and problem resolution
Ability to work with and influence others
Work Knowledge of analysis computer programs
Proficiency in Pro/E (Wildfire) CAD System
Demonstrates leadership abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
Self motivated and assertive
Works well in team environment team player
