Urgent Requirement : Steam Turbine Design Engineer

Role: Steam Turbine Design Engineer
Experience: Minimum 4 Years
Location: Noida
Qualification : Should have B.Tech / M.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering.


Duties:
Steam turbine Product/parts engineering of main assemblies of turbine island.
Engineering support and expertise for common projects across other functions of Thermal Services units.
Product/project specific engineering (design, application and adaptation).
Carry out necessary calculations and analysis related to Steam turbine components (using CAD/CAM tool, spreadsheets or hand calculations).
Development of processes and tools supporting the engineering/development of new solutions for OEM business.
Engineering support during Sales, quality, execution at workshop, at site and at vendor place including quality aspects.
Rendering technical consultation, assessments and technical judgements.
Reverse engineering / re-engineering of spare parts and indigenisation of materials.
Carry out the work with accordance to appropriate norms, design rules and liaison with internal and external partners in the global engineering and manufacturing supply chain.
Management of technical data, records and upkeep & protection.
Behaving according to the Alstom code of ethics & values and promoting the interests and image of the company at all times.

Technical Skills:
Experience with design and mechanical assessments within turbo machinery using state-of-the art tools (e.g. CAD)
Extended knowledge of CATIA V5 CAD System
Experienced in assessment of turbine parts in workshops and on site. Being able to take measurements on site for in kind replacement of parts.
Knowledge in standard repair solutions of turbine parts
Experienced on own fleet and selected other OEM fleets
Working experience in design of parts and Engineering documents like part-list, selection of contemporary suitable materials, tolerancing, using fits & limits and fair acquaintance of machining process and dimensional measurement.
Basic understanding of steam turbine theory, manufacturing and operation & maintenance issues, and IT.
Basic knowledge blade design and thermodynamics.
Effective planning, organization and presentation skills including the ability to priorities and plan work.
Problem resolution skills, resolution of non-conformance, target oriented and analytical skills. Amicable & a team player in an interdisciplinary and multicultural environment.
Own Initiative to learn quickly and to apply new knowledge and good communication skills.
Basic knowledge of using national & international standards like- IS, ISO, EN, DIN, ASTM, ASME, JIS, GOST etc
