JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Description:
Develop and continually enhance the designated Center Of Competency (COC)
Responsible to cater to project teams for their following needs
1) Book Shelving common aggregates ensuring robust validation
2) Ensure maximum commonality in designs, engineering practices and standards
3) Design Quality
4) Book shelving advanced Technologies
Establish design best practices and corporate DNAs
Compile and continually upgrade Design Manuals / Operating Manuals
Benchmarking aggregates of other OEMS
Benchmarking Design and Processes from other OEMS
Composing Model RFQs for all parts and aggregates
Composing and upgrading DVPs, Work Instructions & TSs
Composing and continually upgrading DFMEAs
Vendor Control
Supplier Assessment
Representation ERC in PPAP, APQP activities
Gauge and Process Reviews with Suppliers
Quality Maturation
Post Production Consistency
To resolve field failure problems
Involve in various manufacturing processing activities (Pressing, Welding, Painting, Assembly etc) for ensuring the quality requirement as per the benchmarked concept for the part / aggregate
Interact with the project leader and suppliers for the timely execution and completion of projects, review & release the designs of the common aggregates.
Implement in designs new regulatory norms (CMVR) and get vehicle certification.(CMVR certificate)
Involve into warranty analysis and also incorporate service feedback in designs rules and practices.
Participate in Knowledge Sharing within CAB Design
Interact with several CAB Project Managers for common aggregates and best Practices
Quality Checking of Design Output of the team members
Liaisoning with several CAB project managers, NPI Project Managers and Testing agencies
Job Specifications:
Leadership skills and Interpersonal Relationships.
Expertise in respective domain / aggregate / Subsystems with wide experience specific to the domain
Understanding of complete product development process and manufacturing process involved sheet metal work & Plastics in reference to automotive environment.
Expertise in Integration of respective aggregate into the vehicle with the inputs / feedback from indoor & outdoor testing
Demonstrated diagnostic skills for problem anticipation and problem resolution
Should have worked as a leader respective aggregates
Exposure to vehicle attributes like Craftsmanship, Perceived Quality, Occupant Ergonomics, Passive & Active Safety, Corrosion, Durability.
Exposure to Body, Interiors & Exteriors Design, development and CAE (Crash, Durability & NVH) techniques.
Hands On competency in software tools like CATIA V5, Team Centre, Vismock-up & MS Office
Understanding of inter & intra dependencies with styling, vendors and other departments in product development process.
Should have updates on latest trend in automobile industry related respective aggregate
Good knowledge of metallurgy and awareness towards alternate material selection.
Knowledge of product development process (DFMEA, FEA, DOE etc), CAD/CAE & phase gate system.
Knowledge of Digital product development involving DMU Management
Knowledge of all design standards and legislative standards(AIS) and new regulations.(CMVR, EEC, ECE,ADR, FMVSS etc) pertaining to respective aggregate
Good Knowledge and hands-on experience of GD & T
Should possess sound knowledge of tooling, fixturing and manufacturing, joining & assembly processes of sheet metal and plastic items
Analytical skills to resolve concerns by classical techniques like 8-D , Triz , DEO etc
Should have good Presentation Skills
Should have good communication skills
