Mechanical design of fall protection Equipment

• Create concept modeling in Solid works / Pro/E and detailed drawing.
• Responsible for other technical deliverable s of the project (Preliminary mechanical calculations: structural/ Thermal)
• Understand the standards / regulations and perform product testing and support certification needs
• Modification of existing drawings / Products
• Implementing the ECRO, Redline Markups and implementing it with all the necessary approvals.
• Co-ordination & Follow-up with, Functional Excellence Teams, Manufacturing and Team Lead for day to day project activities.
• Responsible and Accountable for Quality of designs
• Simulation of the concept using FEA tools like Ansys

Qualification: Diploma / B.E / M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Experience in fall protection industry: 5 + Years for BE / M.Tech and 7+ years for Diploma
Job location: Hyderabad

Essential Technical Skills / Knowledge :
• 3 + years experience in design of Fall protection equipment such as Body harness, fall arresters, retractable blocks, Lanyards, anchorages etc
• Good knowledge in national and international standards (ANSI Z 359, CSA 259 and EN ) and certification requirements for fall protection equipment
• Knowledge on design of mechanical elements such as ratchet mechanisms, springs etc
• Strong in strength of materials – Free body diagrams, load calculations, shock absorbing system etc
• Experience on GD & T, Tolerance Analysis, DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly). Good Knowledge in Drafting Standards especially ASME 14.5M, DIN, BSS, etc
• Have understanding on Different Manufacturing Processes like Plastic Injection Molding, Metal Parts Machining, Casting, sheet metal process, Joining methods (crimpling, welding, brazing, soldering) and basic tool design exposure is essential
• Good knowledge on Material selection (Engineering Plastics, Rubber & Metals) and mechanical hardware selection such as Screws, gaskets, O rings and other sealing elements
• Expertise in 3D Modeling and Parametric Detailing, Family Tables.
• Expertise in Pro/E 2001, Solid works & AutoCAD.
• Have an understanding of NPI / Product Development Life Cycle and Product Design skills with Problem solving and analytical capability

Preference:
• Knowledge on other Personal protection equipment such as Hard hats, Respirators, SCBA is an added advantage
• Exposure to Six Sigma methodology / statistical methods.
• Expertise in QFD, DFMEA, PFMEA etc
• Exposure to any analysis tools such as Ansys, CFD is an added advantage
• Exposure to Engineering change Request and Engineering change order implementation & Oracle / MRP tool
